Well here we are after 9 days back in Stafford and 17 police force headquarters visited and we are on schedule. It has been great meeting some fantastic people along the way who have gone out of their way to support us, either by joining us for part of the 'tour', raising money, providing us with food or lodging or just cheering us on - thank you all for your efforts.
Having reached Stafford we visited Mammoth and Gary Foord who has generously supplied the back up van and other equipment and given us training and advice for the 'tour'. Thanks Gary without you it would not have been possible.
I also want to mention the fantastic cheque we received at Stafford. The Stafford Child Protection Team have been great supporters of CVOC in particularly Sue Bufton who has now moved to the NPIA and Ann Marie Large.
Anyway, once again thank you to everyone for your support. Tomorrow we are taking a rest and will set off again on Monday when we will be visiting Cheshire and North Wales.
About Tour de Force
On 1st August 2009 Dominic Chambers, manager of the only national police children's charity Child Victims of Crime, Ronny Carey, Trustee and Matt Ferguson RFU tag rugby man began their epic journey to cycle to every police headquarters throughout England, Scotland & Wales. The support vehicle is driven by CVOC trustee Steve Johnson.
They are cycling to raise awareness of the charity and its valuable work with the added hope of raising significant funds through individual police forces holding fundraising events.
They are stopping off at each Force Headquarters en route for cheque presentations and press coverage.
If you would like further detailed information of the route and would like to join or sponsor them on a particular leg of the journey please contact info@cvoc.org.uk or phone 01785 227325.
