About Tour de Force

On 1st August 2009 Dominic Chambers, manager of the only national police children's charity Child Victims of Crime, Ronny Carey, Trustee and Matt Ferguson RFU tag rugby man began their epic journey to cycle to every police headquarters throughout England, Scotland & Wales. The support vehicle is driven by CVOC trustee Steve Johnson.

They are cycling to raise awareness of the charity and its valuable work with the added hope of raising significant funds through individual police forces holding fundraising events.

They are stopping off at each Force Headquarters en route for cheque presentations and press coverage.

If you would like further detailed information of the route and would like to join or sponsor them on a particular leg of the journey please contact info@cvoc.org.uk or phone 01785 227325.

The blog is being updated daily by CVOC trustee Trevor Koschalka.

End of Day 12 - Liverpool - Manchester and beyond

What a day today has been into Liverpool and Merseyside Police HQ where we met and given another fantastic reception and presentation and then on to Manchester where we met at the edge of the city with a motorcycle escort - I now know what it's like to be a member of the Royal family (Royle possibly Dom) who took us on to the GMP HQ. On the way we had a great surprise we stopped off at Kellogg's offices where a large group of staff came out to greet us and not only were we presented with a cheque but also energy bars and water to help us on our way.
Then to GMP where we were met by the ACC and vice Chair of the Police Authority and another presentation. Off then to the National Cycling Centre for a bit of inspiration and then with a hundred miles done it was time to call a halt to a long but exciting day.
Dave and Colin have now left us and we thank them for their support and we have now been joined by Matt Ferguson of the RFU. Tomorrow we push on to Preston and Penrith and on towards Scotland.
Once again thanks to everyone for their support today.
